We are: Tobias Lemay and Renee Michaud. We are both educators and builders with a passion for community capacity building and youth empowerment.
Renee holds a Provincial Teaching Certificate and a Bachelors in Education with a specialization in Technology Education from UBC. She is a graduate of the BCIT Technology Teacher Education program. She is a carpentry teacher at Van Tech and has also taught metal at Gladstone. Additionally, she has been involved in the Streetfront Alternate program at Britannia and has worked with youth at the Mount Pleasant Community Centre. She is an outdoor enthusiast, a mountain climber, a marathon runner and a parent.
Tobias Lemay lives on Coast Salish Territory where he enjoys slow walks in the woods with his lovely wife and their two old-lady dogs. He loves learning and creating, especially out of wood and metal. Tobias has completed the Technology Teacher Education program at BCIT, holds a Bachelors of Education from UBC and is a BC Certified Teacher. He has completed training in Next Up, Creative Facilitation, and Mental Health First Aid. He’s led woodworking workshops for the Vancouver Tool Library, and has taught workshops at the Pacific Northwest Inward Bound Mindfulness Education teen retreat, as well as worked as a Curriculum Coordinator at the Pearson Seminar on Youth Leadership. Additionally, for many years he volunteered as a community educator teaching workshops in high schools on mental health and wellness for the Crisis Centre. He currently teaches Practical Arts at the Vancouver Waldorf School.

Sherese Johnson is a consultant for sustainability initiatives, education and campaigns; Jessica Atkinson is the registrar at Sarah McLachlan School of Music, a music school for marginalized youth; Heather Kelley is a secondary school teacher in special education, history and social studies; and Jo Lemay is a community educator, literacy instructor and curriculum developer.
